Vintage 1960's Absorbine Jr. Bottle in older Absorbine Veterinary Liniment Box. From the W.F. Young. Inc., 425 River St., Montreal, Quebec. This is an EMPTY bottle from the 1960's which was put into an older box from around the 1945's for collectible purposes or display. Good condition. The paper label on the bottle has some rips and some stains. This is an Absorbine Jr. bottle that was added into an older box for display. The box would date to around the 1945's and was for Absorbine Veterinary Liniment, a similar product and from the same company. Veterinary Liniment was invented in 1892 to replace the practice of "blistering" on horses. A few years later Absorbine Jr. was invented when they decided they wanted to create a similar product for human use. Box suffers from some rips and creases, and there are pieces missing from around the top edge of the box. I found a few of the pieces from around the top edge and they are inside the box. Box has no top or bottom flap. Overall good & displayable condition. Box has vibrant colours and nice graphics. There are also little medicinal booklets inside the box. Bottle measures approx- 7 3/4" inches in height, 2 1/2" inches in diameter at the base. Bottle is marked with the "Diamond D" logo for Dominion Glass Company. I have SEVERAL more pictures which are available upon request, including close-ups of any damage.
