Rare. Vintage 1930's Canadian Tire / Norwesco Brake Grip Fluid (1/2 Pint) Paper Label Can. From the Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited in Toronto, Ontario. This is a FULL can from the year 1937-38 for collectible purposes or display. Good condition. There are some scuffs and some tears on the paper label. There is also another paper label included with this lot which would be the Canadian Tire label. This can was originally a Norwesco Brake Grip Fluid can. Norwesco paper label is still attached to can. Bottom of label at back of can reads "NORWESCO OF CANADA LIMITED - OWNED & OPERATED BY PYRENE MFG. CO. OF CANADA LIMITED - TORONTO, ONTARIO." Early Canadian Tire stamp on front of label under the Norwesco logo. When the first Canadian Tire associate store opened in 1937, they put their own paper labels over their old stock. I took the Canadian Tire label off one day when I noticed there was a brighter label underneath. There are some scuffs and some tears and some oil stains on the Canadian Tire label that was taken off. It would be very nice in a frame beside the can. Shows very early Canadian Tire logo. Overall clean & displayable condition. Extremely rare and very early Canadian Tire can. Excellent addition to any Canadian Tire memorabilia collection.
