Sigma is a company formerly owned by Martin (and which still uses their designs) This is a parlour-sized model, with a slightly wider neck (great for beginners or fingerplaying) with a body-neck join at the 12th fret. This gives good volume, while still being very comfortable to hold. Solid mahogany top, laminate sides, for a mellower tone than spruce. The 12 fret body join gives slightly less tension on the strings, and is frequently seen on older 'blues' guitars. The style is making a major comeback.
Instrument has several classic touches, ie bridge and back of neck 'volute' as well as very good quality Grover open tuners.
Overall, a fine instrument. Best quality Seymour Duncan 'humbucking' soundhole pickup; it is wired to the tailpiece, but could be removed for another guitar. Pickup and installation were approx. $150. No batteries needed.

*Note that this is not a Martin, nor a vintage guitar. It is approx.3 years old. Quality gig bag.
