The button allows for the numbers not to be lit, lit low or lit high. The opposite side of phone has outlets (jacks) for a headset and for a neckloop. On a third side of the phone are buttons for ringer The phone will store up to 70 phonecalls. It flashes a blue light when you have a message. And there is a red light to indicate the mode.
